THE IMPACT OF UTILIZATION OF ELECTRONIC RESOURCES AMONG STAFF AND STUDENTS OF ENUGU STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION TECHNICAL

Abstract

The study investigated on the impact of electronic resources among staff and students of Enugu State college of Education Technical using the quantitative approach of harnessing the questionnaire to gather data and information. The analysis reveal that the utilization of electronic resources among college staff and students supports improvement in their academic performance and enhance their knowledge in various areas of studies, thereby indicating significant positive relationship with usage among the users. Some of the problems encountered in the college in using e-resources are lack of fund to maintain the subscription of the database, power supply and poor knowledge on the use of computer to access the database. The study recommended that intensive marketing strategies should be adopted to increase usage of electronic resources, such as, promotion of on-screen help, printed guides and trainings for electronic resources such as database like ESCOHOST, Proquest, and so on.
